Steve Woolley completes London Marathon
Our very own Steve Woolley recently completed the 2008 London marathon and in the process raised a significant amount of money for charity. Steve had the following to say:-
15th April 2008
“Dear All,
Well I survived, through sunshine, showers, rain, hail and arctic winds. I plodded home in a respectful 5hrs 22 minutes beating my previous best by 5hrs 22minutes!
I would like to thank you all for your kind words of encouragement, support and pledges (I shall be badgering you later for the money if you owe me!).
For the geeky ones, I attach a web link for my split times, race pace etc.
But just to summarise:
- Overall position – 29,380th out of 35,000 odd
- Gender position – 21,213th
- Age group position – 3,963rd out of 10,600ish (most impressed with this one!)
- Averaging a mile approximately every 12 minutes
The photographs will be on the London marathon website in the next few days so enjoy.
Oh and yes, I am back at work (super human) although the legs are somewhere in London and haven’t caught up yet!
Thanks Again, Cheers.
Steve
[Now where’s the lager, I’m parched]”
